In this article it describes the most prestigious of all military awards: the Medal of Honor. This in the most difficult award to acquire and is usually only given to the recipient who was killed during the event that earned them the medal. Only nine of these medals were given since the vietnam war, with this one being the tenth.
The process that is involved in presenting the award is very long and goes through many stages where military officials can vote to either pass is on to the next award or just keep them at the current award. All-in-all it takes about three years for the award to actually be presented to the recipient.
I think that this article is very important, it lets us know what really is goes behind the awards that our soldiers. The way this soldier that received this award reacts toward it is really interesting also, he appreciates the award but he also feels that he did not do anything special to deserve the award.
